May 2026 Wright County Release Alert Change
Missouri changed its local-jail MOVANS process in May 2026. People who had older local detention alerts were directed to create or recreate a registration at the dedicated portal. Court and MODOC text or email registrations were not all reset in the same way, so each existing notice should be checked by source.

Wright County Transfer and MODOC Notifications
A transfer from Wright County Jail to the Missouri Department of Corrections is not a release to the community. The local MOVANS event closes or changes the county-jail stage. MODOC then becomes the relevant source, and Missouri's notification guide says the local registration should not be assumed to follow the person automatically.

When a Wright County event says only “released,” ask for the receiving agency and release type. A DOC commitment, another county hold, or federal transfer ends the Wright County Jail stay while custody continues.
MODOC Offender Search is useful only while the state case remains active. It searches active prisoners, probationers, and parolees, and it may show an institution or supervision assignment. A field-office or parole status can confirm that prison custody ended while state supervision continues. A final discharge is different: the public locator says discharged people are excluded.
